Details
Poster printed during the events of 68 in France. Roger Frey was a French politician close to the gaullist regime and associated with undercover activities. His role was conspicuous during the 68 uprising. As the caption tells us : Frey, Chief of the Informers - Murderer of Charonne. Frey’s name is associated with the massacre of the Charonne metro station in Paris during a demonstration which had been prohibited by the government and took place in February 1962, in connection with the Algerian war. Hence the play on words: Charonne vs. charogne (carrion).
