A whimsical poster created ca. 1920 by Daniel de Losques (1880–1915) and commissioned by the Folies Bergère in connection with the on stage appearance of Louis Maurel, the well known baritone. The Folies Bergère is a cabaret music hall, located in Paris. Established in 1869, the house was at the height of its fame and popularity from the 1890s´ Belle Époque through the 1920s´ Années Folles. This institution is still in business nowadays and remains a strong symbol of French and Parisian life.
