L'Oie d'Or (the golden goose), one of Leonetto Capiello's (1875-1942) most iconic posters. Contrary to what one may think goose liver did not originate in France but in Egypt, over 2500 years ago! It was subsequently introduced in Europe by the Roman legions. This poster (1928) was commissioned by Leymarie in Mont-de-Marsan (Southwestern France), a well known company specializing in gourmet food before it was acquired by Delpeyrat in 1992.
