More Views

A charming and sensual poster realized in 1980's by Bernard Villemot (1911-1989) for Orangina, the soft drink manufacturer.Bernard Villemot (1911-1989) was a French graphic artist known primarily for his iconic advertising images for Orangina, Bally shoes, Perrier, and Air France. He was known for a sharp artistic vision that was influenced by photography, and for his ability to distill an advertising message to a memorable image with simple, elegant lines and bold colors. Orangina is a carbonated citrus beverage made from orange, lemon, mandarin, and grapefruit juices. It is a popular beverage in Europe and to a much lesser extent in North America. The Orangina Light version (with sweeteners) pictured in this poster was launched in 1988. The French caption which translates as "Orangina Light has arrived" is a veiled reference to the expression "Le Beaujolais Nouveau est arrive", the slogan for Beaujolais Nouveau Day, the third Thursday in November when wine lovers in France and around the world race to take part in the traditional tasting of the year's Beaujolais Nouveau.
