A beautiful poster, realized by Oge ca. 1905, to advertise the journal "Gil Blas". According to the slogan, it is the most literary and most Parisianne journal. A man who has the look of a writer is depicted sitting while holding a giant feather that was used for writing back in the days. This poster is featured in the book "Eugène Ogé Affichiste" (1998) on p. 95. Eugène Ogé (1861-1936) was a French poster artist with a unique and playful style. In 1902. he produced one of the best-known anticlerical images of its period La Lanterne. He also made a large number of commercial posters for products. (Wiki)
