Poster commissioned (1954) by the Loterie Nationale (French national lottery) created in 1933 for a special double drawing taking place in the French ski resort of Chamonix and giving a choice of two choices (A or B). Lady Luck a.k.a. Fortuna was the goddess of fortune and personification of luck in Roman religion. She might bring good luck or bad: she could be represented as veiled and blind, as in modern depictions of Justice, and came to represent life´s capriciousness.
