Chromolithograph of the turn of the century depicting a couple of bedouins  shooting birds on the bank of the Jordan river.  The Jordan Valley is divided between Israel in the North and Palestine and Jordan in the South. The Jordan River acts as a natural border, with Palestine on the Western side and Jordan on the Eastern side. The river runs from the Sea of Galilee in the north to the Dead Sea in the south. In addition to the flora and fauna on the ground, the valley is one of the world´s most important crossroads for migratory birds.
