A whimsical poster commissioned by the Loterie Nationale (French National Lottery) created in 1933 and realized by Raymond Savignac (19007-2002) the noted poster designer. This poster (the 3 millions horse!), commissioned ca. 1980 displays Savignac’s humorous simplicity, his trademark throughout his long career. The Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe is open to thoroughbreds aged three years or older. It is run at Longchamp over a distance of 2,400 metres (about 1½ miles), and it is scheduled to take place each year, usually on the first Sunday in October.
