Poster commissioned (ca.1960) by the Loterie Nationale (French national lottery) created in 1933. This poster by Lucien Boucher was issued for a drawing taking place on a Friday the 13th. Supposedly a lucky day for some, an unlucky one for others! Lady Luck  a.k.a. Fortuna was the goddess of fortune and personification of luck in Roman religion. She might bring good luck or bad: she could be represented as veiled and blind, as in modern depictions of Justice, and came to represent life´s capriciousness
