A charming BEFORE LETTERS poster, realized by Oge in 1917. It combines two of the most loves subject matters: Children and cats. A little girl is depicted here, holding a magicians hat. Two adorable kittens are popping out from the hat and eager to play with her, while their mother is watching with anticipation. Oge used very strong shadows as a contrast to the bright background. This poster is featured in the book "Eugène Ogé Affichiste" (1998) on p. 244. Eugène Ogé (1861-1936) was a French poster artist with a unique and playful style. In 1902. he produced one of the best-known anticlerical images of its period La Lanterne. He also made a large number of commercial posters for products. (Wiki)
