Original Vintage French 2 PARTS Poster for "BIC" Pens by Savignac 1966

More Views

In 1945 Marcel Bich opened a factory on the outskirts of Paris with a partner, and after purchasing the patent of the ball pen from the Hungarian Ladislas Biro, started manufacturing his own ball pen design (cheap and reliable) to which he gave a shortened version of his name, i.e. BIC. Today the easily recognizable BIC ball pens are distributed worldwide. This poster is advertising the non slip BIC Junior at a cost of one franc per unit! Raymond Savignac, often just abbreviated to "Savignac", was a French graphic artist famous for his commercial posters. He was born on November 6, 1907 in Paris, and died on October 31, 2002 in Trouville-sur-Mer (Calvados), aged 94. His work is distinguished by a humorous simplicity. This poster appears on page 380 in "Savignac Posters" Book published by Forney.
