Chagall moved together with his family to Provence, to find peace and security in the south of France during the war. Here he completed the picture “The Three Candles” in Provence, France, where we lived with his fmily during the war. The wedding couple, floating in the skies, overcome all the chaos. The candles symbolize faith and hope. The marvelous color lithograph was reproduced in 20 colors after the Chagall oil painting in the studio Tête à Tête, Paris.
