Henri Gray adopted the pseudonym "Gray" or "H. Gray" in his early career. Starting off as an illustrator, Gray contributed his works to magazines and journals. In 1882, he worked as an artist for a magazine called Paris's Amuse. He then moved to Chronique Parisienne and designed the magazine's covers. He produced numerous posters during the golden age of posters in Pari. Gray's posrters have remained in high demand throughout the world ever since.
