Théophile Alexandre Steinlen, frequently referred to as just Steinlen (1859 – 1923), was a Swiss-born French Art Nouveau painter and printmaker. This color lithograph was published in the Le Rire magazine. Le Rire ("Laughter") was a successful French humor magazine published from October 1894 through the 1950s, Founded in Paris during the Belle Époque by Felix Juven.
