"Il Popolo d'Italia" The People of Italy was an important Italian political newspaper, founded by Benito Mussolini in 1914 to give voice to the Italian republican Socialist Party. From the beginning, Mussolini had as a close associate and admiration to the journalist Manlio Morgagni, which was entrusted with the administrative direction of the newspaper. Mussolini was aided by substantial funding from the French and Italian industrial sector, who pushed Italy's to enter First World War. From 1922 it became a propaganda instrument of the National Fascist Party. Publication suspended on 26 July 1943.
