A whimsical poster realized by the French artist, Francis Bernard (1900-1979) for the Arts Ménagers exhibition (ideal home exhibition) in 1965 at the Palais de la Défense in suburban Paris. The event was sponsored by the Centre national de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) as well as by the Ministry for Education. This institution, which sought to provide the French with information about all aspects of domestic management, furnishing, and decoration, began life in 1923 as the ‘Salon des Appareils Ménagers’
