Fabulous authentic 1950's Israel Dayagi brass handled serving dish. The dish is set on a narrow base and from it protrudes a pointed handle that is decorated with carved hieroglyphic images. The dish is covered with a matching lid and topped with a finial.

The Dayagi workshop created affordable decorative and practical art during the austerity regime (the Tzena) in 1950s Israel. Similarly to other products made by makers like Pal-bel, Tamar and Oppenhiem the Dayagi products were made of inexpensive materials, such as brass and copper and were thoughtfully designed for practical use and for home decoration to be suitable for everyone. Their innovative work represents one of the best periods in Israeli design and a milestone in modern Judaica.
