Details

A poster realized at the turn of the century by Julius Mendes Price (1857 - 1924) for The Gay Parisienne. Julius M. Price was an English traveler, artist, and journalist who had exhibits at the Paris Salon and the London Royal Academy. The Gay Parisienne is an Edwardian musical comedy in two acts with a libretto by George Dance. The young lady in full regalia epitomizes the carefree Gay Paris of the fin-de-siècle. Note the human likeness of her faithful companion!
