A whimsical poster, realized by Oge ca. 1905, to advertise the "Bloc Russie" Cigarette Paper. A doctor visits his patient is shocked to find him alive and well, enjoying a cigarette, and accompanied by his smoking cat! This poster is featured in the book "Eugène Ogé Affichiste" (1998) on p. 168. Eugène Ogé (1861-1936) was a French poster artist with a unique and playful style. In 1902. he produced one of the best-known anticlerical images of its period La Lanterne. He also made a large number of commercial posters for products. (Wiki)
