May1968 Student Revolution

"May 68" is considered a movement of political, social and cultural uprising which broke out in France during this period. Side events also took place in the United States, West Berlin and Czechoslovakia even though their origins and causes were more or less different. In France, it was referred to as a revolt, crisis, strike or even revolution. The crisis started with students and then gained strength from the working class. Numerous causes were at the origin of this movement and some of them remained in slogans and propaganda posters of that period. Rejection of authoritarianism, the bourgeoisie anti-militarism, police repression, and the rejection of the consumer society.
