Original Vintage French Children Poster for "Ivette" Rolling Cigrarette Paper by Oge ca. 1900

More Views

Quite a disturbing poster, realized by Oge ca. 1900, advertising "Ivette" Rolling Cigrarette Paper. A young boy is depicted here smoking a cigarette and looking up with great joy. The use of children in tobaco advertisements, though absurd now, was common in those days. Eugène Ogé (1861-1936) was a French poster artist with a unique and playful style. In 1902. he produced one of the best-known anticlerical images of its period La Lanterne. He also made a large number of commercial posters for products. (Wiki)
