Enghien les Bains is a spa town located in the Ile de France region. From the nineteenth century onwards it has benefited from its curative waters and from the fact that it is a short distance from Paris and boasts a well known casino. As the advertisement tells us there were at the time 120 daily trains running from the Paris Saint Lazare train station to Enghien (a 12 minutes ride!)
