More Views

A beautiful original lithograph realized by A. Willette in the 1890's, advertising "Cacao Van Houten". Adolphe-Léon Willette (1857–1926) was a French painter, illustrator, caricaturist, and lithographer. The artist was a prolific contributor to the French illustrated press under the pseudonyms "Cemoi", "Pierrot", "Louison", "Bebe", and "Nox", but more often under his own name. “Les affiches illustrées” was printed in Paris by Imprimerie Chaix who also printed "Les Maitre de l'Affiche." Published in two bound volumes in 1886 and 1896 offering 84 lithograph plates including Cheret, Lautrec, Steinlen, Grasset, Mucha and others. The printing was limited to only 1025, making them very rare indeed.
