Lithograph realized in 1962 for an exhibit of Pablo Picasso’s (1881-1973) “Le déjeuner sur l’herbe” (The Picnic) by the Galerie Louise Leiris in Paris. Edouard Manet (1832-1883) and Claude Monet (1840-1926) had already tackled the same subject in two of their most famous paintings. In less than two years (1961-62) Picasso realized no less than 26 paintings after Manet’s painting.
